• cme and libconfig-model-perl are blocked in unstable

    Hi

I'm in a bit of a pickle with cme and libconfig-model-perl

libconfig-model-perl/2.149-1 is blocked in unstable because it breaks the tests of cme/1.034-1

These tests are fixed in cme 1.036, but cme 1.036 is blocked in unstable because its build depends on libconfig-model-perl 2.149.

    There, we have a loop.

Is there a way to break this loop without tinkering cme tests ?

    All the best

    Dominique

Isn't that the classic case for a

    Breaks: cme (<= 1.034-1) in libconfig-model-perl ?

Or maybe the Breaks belongs into CME, as I did in Lintian here (Bug#968000):

    https://salsa.debian.org/lintian/lintian/-/commit/62082801674a83f14ad597659a3e869040dc91e3

Sometimes a britney hint helps, too.

Sorry if that comment is nonsense. I do not understand Debian CI very well.

    Kind regards
    Felix Lechner

Hmm right. Only cme tests are broken, but it does hurt to say that cme ( <= 1.034-1) is broken.

    okay, I'll try that.

    Thanks for the hint

Semantically "Breaks" describes (consequences of) an action, not a
state: It does not say that cme is inherently broken, only that the introduction of that other package breaks it.

In case that is of some consolation for you...
