I'm using kontact 5.15.3 (20.08.3) with the same version of kmail.
The system is an HP Elitebook laptop with 4G memory, running unstable for several years. The plasma session uses Wayland,
For about 3 months, the message list display in kmail does not update unless I partially hide the window briefly (usually by rolling yakuake down and back up). I can use mouse or keyboard to scroll but nothing changes until the hiding process happens.
Opening of messages (I don't use a preview pane) seems to work normally.
