• Issue with Bullseye Packages.xz on ftp.debian.org

From Cian Donovan@21:1/5 to All on Mon Jan 16 15:30:02 2023
    Hi,

    The file https://ftp.debian.org/debian/dists/bullseye/non-free/debian-installer/binary-amd64/Packages.xz
is practically empty, only 32 bytes with no packages listed. This has
broken the installer for the current stable Debian release from this
mirror. It looks like there is a similar issue for all the non-free
    versions.

Is there an issue with the build system or has there been a policy
    change around non-free?

    Kind regards,
    Cian.

    Hi,

(I've seen your follow-up but I'll reply anyway.)

    Cian Donovan <cian.donovan@akara.ai> (2023-01-16):

You're not actually quoting any error messages, or giving any details,
merely pointing out that there are no non-free packages on amd64, for
bullseye, to be used by the installer. That's not a bug.

(In passing, we have hfsprogs-udeb in testing/unstable now.)

Is there an issue with the build system or has there been a policy
    change around non-free?

    Are you confusing those two?
    - https://ftp.debian.org/debian/dists/bullseye/non-free/binary-amd64/Packages.xz

The first one lists udebs, to be used by the installer; the second one
lists debs, to be installed in the target system.

    Cheers,
