    i don't know if she was the first denier, but probably the first printed [almost 200 years after Shakespeare's death!]

    an interesting character, mostly because of her association with Shakespeare

    I take it that Delia Bacon was innovative and agressive about her pursuit of the real Shakespeare, with many applauding her attempts to use necromancy and trying to dig up his grave. But I have doubts about her admirers' sincerity, which could have been
    snickering. Sort of like how news media reporters with tongues in cheeks pretend to be journalists.
