    Magnificent tone and timbre. If her somewhat mannered approach didn't always win me, her diction was always superb. She will certainly be missed, and those who have seen her will be able to 'remember with advantages' her performances to future
    generations.

    Yes, a great voice indeed. I remember being at a WNO Goodall Tristan in
    Oxford during the '80s where she was present in the audience. There
    certainly was no sideways with her...

    That and the series of cover photos for her recordings where the idea
    seemed to be "what ludicrous hat can we get Jessye to wear this time?" culminating in the daft Fidelio tricorne.

    the best Siglinde ! (LOL, I got less than enthusiastic feedback when I also posted this opinion years ago right here. To each their own. I love how the MET video had a Siegmund of similar physical size (grin).
