COMP.WINDOWS.X
change HWcursor Option property from command line?

In the xorg.conf Section "Device", some device drivers support
Option "HWcursor" {"On", "Off"}.
Is there a command line way to change that while X11 is running, or does
one have to change xorg.conf and restart X?
[I didn't spot anything in man xset/xprop/xinput/etc. or the relevant
driver and xorg.conf man pages, but I may have missed it.]
TIA,
