• KDE thinks eth1 exists (xsession-errors)

From Ar@21:1/5 to All on Sun May 14 18:28:06 2017
    Using Mageia5 x64 version, KDE.

In the file .xsession-errors, it fills up quite a lot with the following:

eth1: error fetching interface information: Device not found
eth1: error fetching interface information: Device not found
    eth1 No such device

Correct, there is no eth1, as confirmed by running as root
    ifconfig -a

So where is KDE getting this nonsense from to fill xsession-errors?

.xsession-errors isn't specific to KDE but rather to X11.

Considering that you're running Mageia 5, I would advise you to bring
this up in alt.os.linux.mageia, because it's quite evidently a bug in
their implementation of X.Org, and related to the abomination named
    "systemd". ;)
