Panglozz is losing customers to me. Nobody wants to comment on his irrelevant factoids with the extrememly vague connections. As I mentioned earlier, he has already fallen out of favor with the SEC. (The SEC has several large trash cans all labelled "
Stats For All". They hate him and his overly long documents.)

Now, it seems he has absolutely no customers left. Give it up, Panglozz.

So, you care to back this up:

"As I mentioned earlier, he has already fallen out of favor with the SEC. (The SEC has several large trash cans all labelled "Stats For All". They hate him and his overly long documents.)"

Please back iup that assertion. Are you saying that the SEC pays no attention to citizen complaints, or are you saying that the SEC isn't investigating the matter due to improper influence and corruption? And just how would you know? What makes you so
    certain?

Your answers will be listened to. Please do make them clear, concise and factual.

Tell us how you, a "non-interested" party would know jack sh*t about what or what not the SEC cares about any other person on the globe. C'mon blowhard - tell us why anyone should give you any credence.

I can't think of any real reason for you to make such claims. I mean, what disinterested party would make such claims unless they were choking their chicken a little too much? The good thing is that you will never procreate. That's a self-saving grace
for the rest of the world.

No need to back it up. Just ask the SEC. If you as much as mention stats_for_all, they will stuff *you* in a trash can. Apparently, he has sent them so many inscrutable documents, they got completely fed up with him, and are looking to track him down and
    capture him if they can.

When pressed on the subject, Loons claim there are no retail investors. But we see some of them couldn't maintain the pretense long enough, and started talking about "pumpers". Colonel Loon puts up a week excuse about journalists, but he is equally
concerned about "pumpers" (and Wild Fool and Crunchie Loser have openly declared their solidarity with Colonel Loon in that aspect). Panglozz uses multiple nyms to post "bad news" about SCO (mostly his imagination, but still). Give them enough time, and
they will all come clean. They are here on IBM's behalf to keep the stock price in check, so IBM can easily buy SCO off in case of future trouble.

They are paid to post lies on this message board. The Despicable Linux Loons! How low will they sink?

The Loons, led by Chief Loon panglozz, have been crying for their message board back so they can whine better without 'disruption'. I leave them alone, and they hardly fill a page in two hours (of mostly off-topic rants).

Get to work, guys! (Yarro fantasies don't count, mind you! Gates, Ballmer, McBride, Yarro - none of these guys are going to jail. The only one that may be incarcerated in connection with this case is probably panglozz. He is troubling the SEC so much, I
heard they are looking to capture him and teach him a lesson he will not forget!)

I'm getting dinged by DDT for nymshifting. Is this a hanging offense?

Obviously DDT is cycling through several attacks: SEC/kook letter, nym-shifting, failure to return library books***.

I have noticed a more than a bit of overt hostility between the given name crowd, and the nymshifters. For instance, an anonymous poster (insert irony here) followed me around Groklaw linking back to Y! crossposts.

I'd like to hear from the "who-I-am-and-proud-of-it wing" on whether they hold grudges of the nymshifters.

***my own sarcastic attack, though no one followed up on the straight man jest.

    An acknowledged nymshifter asks:

    Is this a hanging offense?

No. It can be annoying, but I certainly
wouldn't attempt to hang anyone for it.

On the other hand, people sometimes make
    a metaphorical connection between
    "plonking" and capital punishment (in
fact, one commentator has noted that
    "under constitutional law, they are
viewed as the same thing in many
    instances", see message 275549). As
mentioned in message 380134, there are
some of us who, when filtering posts,
make less use of a black-list and more
use of a white-list -- in other words,
"a file of those few people not to be
killed". To us, you do tend to cause
your own death, at least temporarily,
    when you shift 'nyms.

I have noticed a more than a bit of
overt hostility between the given name
    crowd, and the nymshifters. For
    instance, an anonymous poster (insert
irony here) followed me around Groklaw
    linking back to Y! crossposts.

    I don't get it.I'm not sure what's
hostile about links to yahoo posts, but
even assuming that these groklaw posts
by an anonymous poster were overtly
hostile to you, then wouldn't that be an
    instance of hostility between the
    anonymous crowd and the nymshifters?
How is it an instance of hostility
between "the given name crowd" and
anybody? What's the given name of the
member of the given name crowd that was
    involved in this instance?

Panglozz tried various methods to send me away from here. He tried to get people to ignore me. He tried threats - subtle and not so subtle. Finally, he started crying, hoping to induce feelings of guilt in me. Now, as I start to stay away, he goes and
starts a thread on nym shifting.

Panglozz doesn't mind off-topic discussions, so long as *he* starts them.

    SSM asks:
For what purpose does stats post under both the stats nym and the panglozz nym?? Seriously. Why do that?<<

"stats" was a very confining persona. I expressed my discomfort with this very early in my first "usenet" style posting career (May 2004), when Al. P. questioned missing sources for a post on the Bert Young relationship with the March First bankruptcy.

I felt recently that "stats" had become an "issue". So it was easier to send him off to a well deserved rest, than try and solve whatever the issue might be. Of course now, Panglozz has created a "stats shifting" issue-- further proof of just how stupid
    stats can be.

I can't figure out what you mean by
"'usenet' style" here. I remember you

I'll repost them in follow-ups to this

Let's open source the troll intelligence! Sharing knowledge should help prevent the constant troll feeding that pollutes this forum.

I recieved the email reprinted below from a trusted source. So it is second-hand. The source can verify that the communication comes from the personage using the Deep nym. I think pressure on Deep made him realize his run as uber-TFAD was at risk.

Outing him conclusively will probably just bring him back, since fear of exposure is more confining than actual nomination.

Deep's email follows, only formating oddity I noticed was use of multiple spaces to indent paragraphs, the PDT time zone was hinted at in 2005:

    Date: Mon, 12 Jun 2006 13:29:58 -0700 (PDT)

    xxxxxxx,

Sorry about replying so late. I only saw this today - I don't use this
email address that much. Thanks for keeping my confidence. Stats_for_all looks
like a good guy, not at all the kind to call people late at night, but still.

Yes, I am trolling, but only partly. I do mean some of the stuff about
Linux supporters' denial and the like. I'm going to give it up "shortly" anyway. No, there is no payment involved!

As for GL, I guess there is no one thing. The general dishonesty, I guess, the extreme rigidity of position, and the tendency to demonize people over disagreements. We may not see eye to eye on this, but I think all these attributes are present in the Linux world at large. (Yeah, I do the same in my
Y!SCOX posts, but I am trolling!)

Thanks again for keeping my information private, and hopefully, I will be able to largely leave you guys alone.

Yep. Stats got that e-mail from me. Deep had used the stimpsonsaid nym a few months back and then responded as deepdistrust that the parent was him. Stats yahoeuvred the stimpsonsaid nym and noted evidence that I had had e-mail interaction with it.

Stats wrote me asking for information. I told him that the person writing me as stimpsonsaid had admitted in e-mail in Jan 2005 that he was also deepdistrust but had asked me not to reveal that. I told stats basically that and told him that I intended to
keep the promise I had made to keep it quiet in a reply e-mail back in 2005.

I did write to ddt using the old e-mail I had and got no response. I told all of that to stats. Just last week, some time after my most recent e-mail to deep, I got a response. I shared it with stats after stripping headers and other identifying
information. I also told deep that I actually agreed with some of his points regarding the problems in the linux crowd and that if he weren't so over the top, that I would rec more of his posts and that he might even get some serious conversation going.

There is no need for anyone to ask me for further information because I did make a promise to keep a confidence. I intend to continue that.
