I believe the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals judges were improperly influenced by hundreds of anti SCO letters sent by liberal scholars. This page supports my belief:

In 2009, liberal professor, Pamela Samuelson, wrote two Letters to a judge to attempt to influence his decision on Authors Guild, Inc. v. Google, Inc.:
