'Trivial File Transfer Protocol is a simple & lightweight means of sending/receiving files over a network. Think of TFTP as the little
brother of FTP (most all the good stuff without the complexity).
TFTP doesn't require user authentication & does not allow changing
directories. Several types of networked devices like: routers,
diskless workstations, & online appliances use TFTP to push/pull
firmware updates & even boot.
My case was much more modest, I needed a way to copy files from my
wife's Windows box, to my OpenBSD server after finding Sneakernet
especially disagreeable =) Knowing OpenBSD includes a TFTP server
& Windows has a builtin TFTP client, all the necessary software was
in place, I only had to configure the server/client pair...'
