• i386: machine hangs with Atheros interface in hostap mode

From Volker Schmidt@21:1/5 to All on Sat May 7 17:30:56 2016
    Hi,

-- it seems I'm running into the issue in http://gnats.netbsd.org/48736.
About as documented there, the machine just freezes after connecting to
the ath WLAN and transmitting a small amount of data.

Are there any known workarounds or solutions? Are there any WLAN miniPCI
cards known to work on a i386 machine with -7.0 or -current?

-- I'm running NetBSD-7.0 on a Soekris net4801. The CPU is recognized as

cpu0 at mainbus0: Geode(TM) Integrated Processor by National Semi, id 0x540

    -- The Atheros interface is

    ath0 at pci0 dev 14 function 0: Atheros 5212

-- Some ath0-related messages condensed from dmesg:

ar5212Reset: invalid channel 0/0x0; not marked as 2GHz or 5GHz ar5212SetKeyCacheEntry: entry 65535 out of range
    ...
ar5212GetNf: NF did not complete in calibration window
ath0: stuck beacon; resetting (bmiss count 4)
ar5212StopTxDma: queue 9 DMA did not stop in 100 msec
    ar5212StopTxDma: QSTS 0x700 Q_TXE 0x200 Q_TXD 0x200 Q_CBR 0x0
    ar5212StopTxDma: Q_MISC 0x8a2 Q_RDYTIMECFG 0x0 Q_RDYTIMESHDN 0x0

Any hints? Am I stuck with NetBSD-5?

    Thank you
