    Hey everyone..

I stumbled upon these devices, and per IBM's announcement letter, some type of code existed to interface these monsters with a PC or PS/2 system via the serial port with a doofy AC adapter that attached to the DB9/25 connector to supply power.

    Here's the announcement: http://www-01.ibm.com/common/ssi/ShowDoc.wss?docURL=/common/ssi/rep_ca/6/897/ENUS189-166/index.html

It mentioned "IBM provided code", and a diagnostic disk that "MUST" be used when interfacing these with a PC. Not sure if the disk contains said code, but if anyone has a copy of this diagnostic disk, either 3.5" or 5.25" disk images, I'd be super
    grateful.

Any other information that you might be able to provide would also be appreciated.

    Thanks !

    Lorenzo

    I'm "a bit" late but:
Both the Dials and the LPFK interface to the machine via the serial port.

Software that supported them, had a built-in driver (in user space).

The 3.5" disk was for diagnostics only.
