Hey everyone..grateful.
I stumbled upon these devices, and per IBM's announcement letter, some type of code existed to interface these monsters with a PC or PS/2 system via the serial port with a doofy AC adapter that attached to the DB9/25 connector to supply power.

It mentioned "IBM provided code", and a diagnostic disk that "MUST" be used when interfacing these with a PC. Not sure if the disk contains said code, but if anyone has a copy of this diagnostic disk, either 3.5" or 5.25" disk images, I'd be super
