• New server

From Burkhard Schultheis@21:1/5 to All on Fri Sep 30 08:48:56 2016
Today we have a 9133-55A server (Power 5) hosting two LPAR's with AIX
5.3 and AIX 6.1. Now we need an installation of 7.2. Because the old
machine is not compatible with AIX 7, we need new hardware. On all these machines there run only build processes (compiling and linking). We
would like to replace the old machine by a new machine running all 3
systems. It should be a rack mounted server. What would be the cheapest
    solid solution in your opinion?

    Thanks in advance!

    Regards
    Burkhard

aix 7.2 will run on power7 or later, if you insist on hw there are
rackmount entry servers (2U) new or used,
add powervm express or standard edition for virtualization so you can
    create the 3 lpars.

OR, if you are an ISV, IBM wants you to bring your sw to power and
offers free cloud access: google for "IBM Power Development Cloud".
