INTRODUCTION:
-------------
Unigroup's June 2020 meeting will be an update on IBM's AIX
UNIX Operating System and a brief update on IBM Power
Computer Systems and CPUs. Given the COVID-19 emergency,
this will be Unigroup's first-in-40-years 100% ONLINE meeting,
and is expected to be a shortened meeting vs what Unigroup
normally presents. Our thanks go to IBM for helping us set
up this ONLINE meeting. Note: This ONLINE meeting will be
open to the public, and at no charge, but RSVPs with working
EMails are mandatory, since we will have to send out WebEx
connection information.
WebEx Testing: To view the ONLINE session, you will need only
a supported browser, or there also may be a WebEx app and/or
browser plug-in for a more advanced experience, depending on
your device. We have confirmed that a native Fedora 32 LIVE
Spin DVD booted up inside KVM works
(Fedora-KDE-Live-x86_64-32-1.6.iso), needing nothing more
than scripting and cookies permitted. The ONLINE session can
receive audio via the WebEx session using your device speakers,
or via the telephone conference bridge. So you can attend
100% audio-only if you want, just by using a standard telephone
call (note: we don't know if the meeting PDFs will be available
in advance). Further information about Cisco WebEx and
compatibility can be found at
http://www.webex.com. Do test
your compatibility in advance if you are planning to attend,
or perhaps have a Fedora 32 LIVE spun up and ready to go.
(Remember to keep your audio/phone muted during the session.)
Unigroup's Meeting Calendar:
18-JUN-2020: ONLINE: IBM AIX Operating System and Power CPU Update (IBM).
16-JUL-2020: ONLINE: To-be-determined.
