It's easier to exclude them by adding their Path(s) to your "ME" newsfeeds >definition in INN, or use Diablo's "alias" directive inside the GLOBAL label.
Problems is that they are the worse offender with clout. They need
to made an example of.

Good luck with that.
Proportionally, Google probably sends out one of the lower percentages
of spam compared to other services. The problem is that even that small percentage applied to the huge number of messages they send means that
they volumetricly may send more spam than anyone else.

I agree with Grant overall. When I look at what gets offered to me which I >consider true spam, excessive multi-posting/flooding, etc. most of it comes >from commercial providers. Today Google is more like AOL was when they brought >Usenet to the masses. Lots of useless "conversation", but not nearly as >'spammy' as I see coming from the resellers of HighWinds, for example.
I have a hunch most text-only peers who don't get close to high volume >injection points have no idea the amount of spam that gets filtered from those >guys before they get a chance to be offered the articles. All the 'floods' >I've witnessed lately originate from operations in the Netherlands. >Auto-uploaders and spam bots are in heavy use behind those injection points.
When I wasn't peered with commercial providers I saw much less, and admit that >Google did account for most of the hits Cleanfeed and pyClean identified. >However, when you get a bigger picture of Usenet as a whole, they are a tiny >fraction of 'the problem'.

IF Google were using fiulters, most of their spam customers would disappear.

I think that Google filters /inbound/ messages. So if you're inside and sending something /outbound/, you're probably okay as far as Google is concerned.
I'm a very big advocate of filtering /inbound/ *and* /outbound/ messages.
Granted, this is mostly a mentality for email, but applies to news too.

Best I can tell, they only do basic rate-limiting after X number of posts. >Most of the prolific spammers using Google take a long time to get cut off and >move to another account, but that does seem to happen too.
