I assume you mean 4GB ?
Hi,
I'm working on a Sun a Netra T1125 for a project, Ultra 60 m/b.
It's running FreeBSD Sparc 11 rel, packages built, including
vnc server and more. It has 16 x 128MB, 2GB, but running zfs,
could really do with some more. Were there any 256Mb simms
made that will fit this machine and if so, would 4mB total work,
supported or not. Has anyone tried this ?...
Thanks,
Chris

question to answer is ... are there any 256MB DIMMs around which will >physically fit in the slots ?

I believe the 256MB DIMMs for the Ultra 80 are the same form factor.

Thanks for the replies. Done a bit more digging and it seems that the
256meg will work in a U60, but are seen as 128 meg, which makes sense.
Posted in the sun rescue digest mailing list, which says the same, but wondering what the differences are between the U60 and U80, where the
256 meg are supported. The machine here is a T1405, a telco equivalent
of the U60, while the U80 telco is a T1405. I'm pretty sure I have a
T1405 somewhere in store, so will pull that out and check it out.
Meanwhile, have the T1405 setup with a sas controller, HP msa50 sas enclosure. 5 x 900Gb drives setup as a zfs array and rsync'd
around 2.4Tb from the lab server to the T1405. Still checking, but
seems to be error free, so yet another example of how FreeBSD Sparc
just rocks...
