Syncro Soft, the developer of the Oxygen XML suite of products, is proud and excited to announce the immediate availability of version 21 of its industry-leading XML editing suite of products, Oxygen XML Editor, Author, Developer, Web Author, WebHelp,
Oxygen PDF Chemistry, as well as version 1.1 of the new Oxygen Content Fusion collaboration platform.

Version 21 brings you numerous new features, updates, and improvements to the already robust suite of products. The primary focus for this major release was to evaluate user requests for improvements and additions, implement as many of them as possible,
while preserving the reliability, stability, and performance requirements that the community has come to expect from the Oxygen team.

    New Features and Improvements include:

    * Various enhancements for DITA authors, including the DITA Reusable Components view was enhanced with a new tiles layout and new filtering/sorting options, you now have the ability to preview images before inserting them, support for profiling attribute
groups was added to make it possible to filter and flag content using values organized with hierarchical subcategories, DITA maps are now automatically re-indexed when opening them, submaps can now be validated while keys are gathered in the context of
the root map, the application now comes bundled with the latest version of DITA-OT (3.2.1), and many other DITA improvements.

    * Collaboration for your XML documentation review process is now readily available since the Oxygen Content Fusion connector add-on is already installed in Oxygen XML Editor/Author.

    * The CSS-based PDF Publishing support and the Oxygen PDF Chemistry engine also received numerous improvements and new features. You now have access to a new transformation scenario type to transform any XML document to PDF using CSS styling. For DITA
projects, you now have the ability to add an Edit link in the PDF output and clicking the link will open the particular topic in Oxygen XML Web Author, and comments and tracked changes can be displayed in the PDF output, both directly in the document and
in the Comments or Annotations panel in PDF readers.

    * A major effort was put into making the JSON support as robust as the other built-in document types. The Outline view was redesigned and it is automatically synchronized with the main editor, it presents validation errors, and the internal model was
enhanced so that the document structure is displayed even if the JSON content is not well formed. Another major improvement was the addition of an intelligent Content Completion Assistant that is driven by an associated JSON Schema. You can define your
own code templates that will appear in the content completion list, XPath expressions can be executed over multiple JSON files, you can transform or query JSON documents using XSLT or XQuery, various actions were added, and many other JSON features were
    implemented.

    * The support for XSLT 3.0 and XQuery 3.0 was improved. For example, the content completion now offers more proposals for parameter values in functions, new XPath 3.1 functions are now proposed in the content completion, including documentation in a side
window. The Compile XSL Stylesheet for Saxon tool also was improved to provide the option to use a Saxon configuration file to control the compiling operation.

Version 21 of the Oxygen XML Web Author also includes a variety of new features and improvements to make your authoring, collaborating, and reviewing experience more efficient, accurate, and productive than ever before.

New Features added in Oxygen XML Web Author version 21 include:

    * Several new features to help DITA authors work with DITA keys, for example inserted references are automatically converted to key-based references if a key is available for the target, and a new DITA Keys toolbar action was added to make it easy to
find keys and insert links or variables defined with a key. The editing context can be controlled by specifying a DITAVAL filter and the excluded content will be grayed out, and you can also see the content in different scopes, if you use the DITA 1.3
    key scope functionality.

    * Additional file repository integration plugins were added. For example, you now have the ability to use Web Author with a Perforce Helix version control system, or connect to other CMIS-enabled content management platforms such as Alfresco, SharePoint
    On-Premise, or FileNet.

    * Web Author now includes a simple Markdown editor with syntax highlighting and a new document template was added for creating new Markdown documents.

    * The support for tables in Web Author was greatly enhanced. The design was improved, it is now easier to move entire rows or columns, perform copy/paste, join/split, and other actions when selecting cells. DITA tables now include a Table Properties
dialog box where you can configure various table-related options.

    * The Character Picker plugin was improved, content completion was added in Text mode, new options and parameters are now available, and much more.

ability to choose from several new display modes, including a mode to display the map with all the topic content expanded.
