  • Load System

    I have several North Star Advantage systems with hard disks and controllers that have been in storage. I am trying to restore them to operation.

    All of the systems will power on and display, "Load System."

    However none of the systems will boot to floppy.
    I have checked the voltages with a scope and the appear normal.

    Can anyone suggest a next step to troubleshoot these systems?

    If it's an NS Advantage, try typing in D0 or D1 at the load system prompt. That should get it to boot from the floppy drive. Let me know if that doesn't work and I'll see what I can come up with.

    I hate to ask, but do you happen to have an Advantage hard controller you would be willing to part with?
