• new account for used Mac?

    From J Burns@21:1/5 to All on Thu Oct 28 20:12:06 2021
In the course of operating my Macs, sometimes I've had to give Apple my
ID and password. Suppose I were to give one to a relative. Could they
register it under a different account?

If you're selling or giving away a Mac, the best approach is to clean re-install the OS and then quit out of set-up before creating any user
account on the Mac. The new owner can create their own user account on
the Mac, their own Apple ID, and buy / install whatever apps they want.

You'll also have to remember to go to Apple's website to remove that
Mac from any of your own account services (e.g. iCloud), and possibly
similarly for any other services / apps you use. Some of Apple's
service, for example, are limited to a set number of devices, so not de-registering old ones could cause you trouble in the future.

Yes. But as Your Name says, best to clean it completely and re-install
    the OS.

BUT turn off "Find my Mac" under iCloud settings before doing so.
