Does any version of TimeMachine backup any Trash folders?

    I was wondering that too.

It was a rhetorical question. The answer is 'no'.

    Well quite.

It was a rhetorical question. The answer is 'no'.

TimeMachine doesn't backup cache files either, or quite a long list of
other 'transient' and 'temporary' files. The files that were in the
trash, would have been backed up from before they were placed in the
    trash.

Also of note, the Trash is not a place to store files.
