• eBay calculation error?

From A2CPM@21:1/5 to All on Thu Dec 7 01:03:02 2017
    Hi, y'all!

At first I thought it was another example of eBay insanity. A seller is offering some Apple ][ CP/M items with a starting bid of at least $1,000. That seller is ativ11. But when I checked all the other items being offered by ativ11 I saw that ALL
of them start at $1,000 or more. Even a button. So now I'm wondering if the seller made some kind of calculation error when setting the starting bid.

The classic decimal issue? He wanted to enter 1,00 and the system took
    it as 1,000.00.

In the late '90 bidding on ebay.com from an European location was
dangerous. Sometimes you had to enter 1.50 to get one and a half (US
style), sometimes 1,50 (European style). Fortunately that problem
disappeared when ebay.de, co.uk and .com merged.
