Picking it up after the store transfers all the data files. Then the fun starts. Installing software, hooking up printers and other peripherals, installing Windows in Boot Camp, learning MacOS features and nuances.

So envious of you Tom. What an outstanding decision. Not available at
my stores around here. Keep checking day by day.

Looks like you will have a more up to date Mac than Alan.

    For a while perhaps.

But so what? The machine I have does what I need of it and has been
doing so for more than 6 years now.

I tend to use machines for a long time, and then when do buy a new
system, I make sure to load it up, so it will work for the next long period.

    :-)

Lot’s of thought went into spending that much on a laptop. By adding back ports and considering the performance is more than comparable to top end Windows laptops the Mac is made attractive, at least to me.

Do I really need all that that performance? No. It was simply time to try something different and cutting-edge.

I am curious why you also bought the Magic Mouse. Almost any Bluetooth
mouse you already have would work with it. You must be a true Apple Fan
    Boy! In spite of Alan.

Well, I just wanted to try it. It matches the keyboard too. We will see how it works and if there is something I like more it goes on eBay and I buy something else, or maybe use my tried and true Logitech.
