Pretty much what I’ve been saying … and why I’ve *still* not been attending
higher risk events like full football stadiums.
Happened to be at my MD today, where we talked thru this; basic assessment is that it’s burning through the under age 12 schools right now, and we can
expect bumps (hopefully small) after Thanksgiving & Christmas…the “all clear” is probably after Feb ‘22.

Off tonight to see Phantom for the 3rd time ever, and in a sold out theater. The other 2 were years ago, and sold out too. Wife's birthday present from me. Hope you enjoy your evening at home.

How many times have you already been burned by being overly optimistic?
FYI, if you're going to rely on historical precedent, then do be aware that the 1918 pandemic's "4th wave" was in 1920, a full two years after its onset:
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spanish_flu#Timeline>
Granted, there's vaccinations now, but the above 2 years isn't counting the locations where the outbreak was significantly delayed, specifically in 1921 in New Caledonia (3yrs) or in 1926 in American Samoa (9yrs), even though there's likely to be delays this time too.
As the football season started the case numbers started declining.Correlation isn't causation.
If you're looking for causality, suggest you contemplate how much of the rise
of Delta may align with the start of school, particularly since that's where most
unvaccinated individuals are (e.g., under age 12).

Sure, but you'd first better go check what's currently happening in the UK:
"LONDON, Oct 17 (Reuters) - Britain on Sunday reported 45,140 new cases
of COVID-19, the highest daily number since the middle of July, and 57 new deaths within 28 days of a positive test, according to official data."

Sorry, its a "school night" for me, Tom. But we did go out last Friday, to an
outdoor venue.
