And naturally, the only possible kind of waste that can be reduced is unneeded charging bricks. <eye roll>

But Apple already doesn't include chargers...

...so they only "waste" would be the need to have a $10 Lightning cable
to plug into the charger you DO have.

    So job done, then!

Regardless of the waste issue Lightning is behind USB. Time for it to go. Even fanboi Richey says so.

You should actually have watched that entire video.

Because if you had, you'd have listened to the very good reasons that
Apple has NOT switched to USB-C on the iPhone.

He literally makes the argument that the only use-case that demands
USB-C for an iPhone is using the iPhone as a professional-level camera
for professional "film" and television production.

    That's it.

So way to go, Liarboy: you got sucked in by the click-bait!

That new iPhone will be dead forever in a day or two without a charger.

This is some great revelation to you, is it?

Maybe you would buy a new house plumbed with re-used pipes & old electrical wires, but most people would prefer new fuseboxes to code in that new house instead of reusing old wires and old steel pipes pulled from the old house that was knocked down because everything was so old it had to be rebuilt.

That really sucks as an analogy attempt...

...and that's before noting that fuzeboxes were obsoleted decades ago: houses have been using breakers for a good 40-50 years.

The reason is that its about a deliberately temporary connection, so the homeowner
analogy is akin to taking the orange 100ft extension cord that's in the garage with you
when you move to a new home, along with the garden hose and sprinkler.
