What RISCOS driver are you using?

Ah! Forgot to say that.
!Printers 1.89 which came with R 5.28 I think.
PostScript 3 printer driver 1.21 (01-Jun-12) from Martin Weurthner.

I've just tried to print a page from OvationPro contining images obtained using my trusty Epson GT 6500 scanner.
PostScript 3 printer driver 1.21 (01-Jun-12) from Martin Weurthner to my Samsung laser
If I use the Sprite files I'm still getting the mass of black effect. If
I use JPEGs or PNGs of the same image, the print OK. Weird.
From whence cometh !Printers 1.90 as mentioned above? Is it worth my upgrading.

Printers 1.90 is from the latest HardDisc4 image or the way i got it is
via Packman.
You need to add IIRC the following URL to the packman sources: http://packages.riscosopen.org/packages/pkg/rool
This then gives access to all the individual updated ROOL programs that
are provided in the HardDisc4 image.

Hi Chris

This could be a useful way of getting access to the HardDisc4 image
but I'm not clear how to access individual programs.
You need to add IIRC the following URL to the packman sources:
http://packages.riscosopen.org/packages/pkg/rool
This is the easy part - open !PackMan and open Resources. Load Sources textfile into a text editor program. Scroll down until you see the
above link. Remove the # that proceeds it. Save the changes. Reload
!PackMan. Done
This then gives access to all the individual updated ROOL programs
that are provided in the HardDisc4 image.
Where do I find Printers 1.90?

Thanks for the info. Ah! Don't do Packman (yet) so perhaps I'll wait for
5.30 and presumably it will come with that. I'm risk (not Risc) averse.
Actually the proper way to add the above URL is via the packman
icon bar menu > Advanced > Sources and then click on 'Add' and
copy/paste the URL in and then OK.

You need to refresh your list! Icon bar icon > Update Lists should
do it or restart Packman I think that does it as well.
Then scroll down or use the section button to select Printing (all
programs connected with Printing appear to then be shown).

Try:

Interestingly, I closed Printers 1.89 ran Printers 1.90. The PDF Output
and PostScript3 printers were still in the Printer control window list.
I had expected a blank slate as it were and would have to reload
everything. Is that info held outside the printers app?
Now, is it possible to uset this to update the bugged DragAnObject (which
is what I wanted to do), and if so, how?

I don't think so: at the moment, I'm fairly sure that it's just disc components that are packaged.

It's in Choices:Printers.
You'll notice I have a new e-address as the waitrose one will soon
disappear over the horizon as PlusNet closes its mail service.

When did they say it will close?
I hope that is just waitrose email addresses not plus.net email
addresses. I've had no notification of that closing but I suspect it is
only a matter of time.

I got the mail shot from them saying it would close and suggesting how to
get a gmail, Yahoo or Microsoft email but no date for the final axe.
I presume they have to make people redundant or absorb them elsewhere in
the organisation so all that takes time.
I've got a domain now with Orpheus so gradually moving things over. More stuff to do... Grr!
