  • Demonstrating RISC OS software

From Alexander Ausserstorfer@21:1/5 to All on Sun Mar 28 17:25:32 2021
I did some videos which demonstrates what you can do with RISC OS:

    http://home.chiemgau-net.de/ausserstorfer/Temp/2021-03-27/Demonstration_1.mp4 (3172 kB)

    http://home.chiemgau-net.de/ausserstorfer/Temp/2021-03-27/Demonstration_3.mp4 (3184 kB)

    http://home.chiemgau-net.de/ausserstorfer/Temp/2021-03-27/Demonstration_2.mp4 (8 MB)

Here editing / answering news using !StrongEd.

I'm thinking about to do more about that (in a more quality way) for
people which don't have any idea about RISC OS. What I also want is to
add a caption who explains it.

Here is a short video yet I did by YouTube today:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vkm5kaMzneo

It may be very simple and idiotic but future (?) clips may discover
more. There is a subtitle in English. I don't know if this is to
understand because I'm not from the English world.

Am I correct in thinking you are trying to promote RISC OS. I don't
want to dampen your enthusiam Alex but you will have to compete
against the numerous but superb professional quality of videos
produced by Tom Williamson of Wi-fi Sheep fame. You have probably
seen them but in case you haven't... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=botfr2a-1kY

No. I'm not. It's not about RISC OS.

I don't compete with anyone. To compete is good for what?

I do know these videos (Wi-fi...) but "Ich kann damit absolut nichts
anfangen." I wrote it in German because I don't know how to express it
    in English, I'm afraid.

I can put the sentence into English, but having seen neither
Alex's videos, nor the Wi-Fi Sheep ones, it is probably
impossible for me to come up with a really good English
    equivalent.

Context is really important. When I read "Ich kann damit
absolut nichts anfangen" I get more of a gut feeling than a
literal understanding. However, possible translations could
    be:-

"They are absolutely no use to me".

"I have absolutely no use for them".

"I cannot do anything with them".

Veering further from the obvious, could mean...

"They are really not what I am on about."

"They are just not what I am trying to do here".

https://reverso.net is a useful tool for this sort of thing.
If one uses Windows there is a Firefox extension which is
    really handy.

And there's an update to Reverso that works on any text in the desktop, by double tapping Ctrl-C. Indispensable application, too bad that RISC OS has nothing similar.

    Kind regards,
