• Facebook, not Netsurf

From Harriet Bazley@21:1/5 to All on Mon Oct 4 21:52:40 2021
I'm afraid that when I discovered that Netsurf was repeatedly failing to
access m.facebook.com over a period of several hours, I assumed that
Facebook had decided to slam some kind of JavaScript-driven traffic throttling/bot banning device on their site that banned all
'non-standard' browsers (having had that experience with a number of
    websites over the past year).

But apparently somebody actually *has* taken down the mighty Facebook,
    which rather amuses me. https://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/gadgets-and-tech/facebook-down-instagram-whatsapp-today-b1932059.html

They took it all down themselves. Rumour has it that a new configuration required that their servers were taken offline for some changes but once
they did that they couldn't access the servers to upload those changes. A schoolboy error by a firm run by a schoolboy.
