• How to update Toolbox

From Richard Porter@21:1/5 to All on Tue Feb 27 23:28:55 2024
I'm struggling to update Toolbox 1.59 to 1.71.
The problem is, whatever I do, it comes up with "Toolbox has active
tasks". How do I get round that?

The latest version of the ToolBox module seems to be v1.60, which is
in recent 5.29 ROMs. Where did you get 1.71 from?

You do not say exactly how you are trying to update, or where from,
but if you put the ToolBox module in !System.310.Modules.Toolbox
directory and re-boot it will probably work, unless you have another
    version in your !System.

I would assume you need to quit all running tasks and reboot?

This is the version found for RiscOs 6, there are also other
    ToolBox modules.

As the OP posted using RO5.29, I did not check that!

And any modules from RO4 or RO6 would not be 32-bit compatible anyway!

    Thank you, I hadn't seen version 1.60.

You can use !UnplugTBox which installs in the control panel to select the toolbox module to use, always requires a restart.

But if you want to create a wimp application, it is advisable to stay with
the official version, otherwise your programs will not be able to work on another machine.

They are comatible, the Module flag word in the module header is set.

I'm waiting for the results from the Reunification Toolbox.

    So it is!
The latest I had was v1.70, which does not have the flag set.

    As we all are.
