• *SCREENSAVE

From George Pearce@21:1/5 to All on Sun May 16 06:07:24 2021
I regularly use OSCLI "SCREENSAVE etc" to save plots of various 'attractor' programs ( eg Barry Martins 'Hopalong') in BASIC. They give large files (5- 8MB) as sprites which I then convert to much more compact png, via Paint. I can do this directly in
    Python on the Pi.

My question is - has *Screensave been updated since RISC OS 3, and if not could it be and could it offer to include direct output as png?

    One can have dreams.

The RISC OS Open documentation suggests not, but I'm sure there's something like *GIFSave or *PNGSave floating around somewhere. (I've written *GIFSave
and *BMPSave for the Beeb, I see no problems for RISC OS versions.)
