• !treemenu replacement

From Nick K@21:1/5 to All on Mon Nov 8 19:15:55 2021
    Hello

Is there a !TreeMenu like app that is stable and more recent.

I have used it for years along with MenuBar but it keeps crashing when
some other apps are present - this is likely due to it's age and is
probably not Adjust friendly (last update in 1994) - I'm using VA 4.39

!TreeMenu allows you to quickly run through directories from the route directory by clicking on it's icon and does the same from an open window header, that being the starting point.

It is painful without, I vaguely recall something similar released years
    ago.

    thanks IA

    DirMenu by "The Flying Pig"

I use a modified version plugged into a modified version of the old
TinyDirs app, so when I click Adjust on a directory icon on the iconbar, I
get a DirMenu of its contents.

great it does everything and more - is there a preferences menu to
simplify some of the display functions ?

No, you have to edit the menu file[s] to define what options get
displayed when you Select- or Adjust-click on the Director icon, and
when you click Menu over a window's titlebar.

(A standard menu has the syntax

    Menu Title
    Option 'do something'
    Option 'do something else'
    EndMenu )

The directory !Director.Menus.User gives examples of some alternative
    menus from various real-life people.

You can drastically cut the number of features by substituting new files
in Choices:Director.Menus.User to override the default options. If you
list the features you actually want I could probably work out the syntax
to produce menu files with just those options included.

(Have you discovered the Memoriser yet? It's very handy....)
