I can't find a reason why... Any useful thoughts, please.
Why does NewsHound insist it "Can't find a Group file" when the damn file
is in the same place it has always been since... A very long time ago?
Sometimes even quitting and re-running NewsHound doesn't fix it.
Grrr!

Just had this error myself, found the ddun files had been locked as
already open.
I used !CloseFiles to close the offending files and then it worked again.
!CloseFiles on my ARMX6 is by default in the Utilities folder

Aha! I hadn't thought of that one, next time NH annoys me I'll try the !CloseFiles.
Good thought, thanks.

Mine has a short cut on the desktop. I've configured all my
RISC OS machines this way, ever since I had an Archimedes.
It's not needed often but it's always to hand when needed.

I gave its default location, but mine is actually setup
as an icon on !Launcher for quick access !Launcher is
one of the several launcher programs.
The thing I was trying to set up was add another Newsgroup to an existing server... Being "news.eternal-september.org"

While testing a short while ago I discovered that sometime today both alt.comp.software.firefox and alt.comp.software.thunderbird have become available on news.eternal.
NewsHound is behaving itself...
Dave
Afterthought...
Is there a way to find a complete list of NewsGroups carried by a
particular server?
As in all the NGs carried by say... "news.eternal-september.org"
Thanks
Dave

In Newshound>Choices select Misc and there you'll find an option to "Get
list of all newsgroups".
