The next meeting of the RISC OS User Group Of London will be:
Passing On
Open discussions facilitated by Bernard Boase
Monday 18th March 2024, 7:45pm
The Duke of Sussex
(upstairs in the Chichester or Petworth Room from 6.30pm)
23 Baylis Road, London, SE1 7AY
https://rougol.jellybaby.net/venue.html
Also online via Zoom, meeting open from 7.30pm
https://rougol.jellybaby.net/meetings/
Inspired by the recent thread on the StarDot forum titled "What happens to
your collection when you pass?" we will be having a discussion about what happens to your computers and data when you finally shuffle off this
mortal coil.
https://stardot.org.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=28756
Will your computers be sold off or donated to a museum, or passed on to
other enthusiasts who can keep them in use? Who will be willing/able to
ensure any useful data is made publicly available, while wiping anything personal before disposing of the systems.
Bernard Boase will be our facilitator for the evening, but everyone is encouraged to join in with their thoughts and details of any plans they
have already put in place.
In addition to that fascinating discussion, for those attending in the pub
(and why wouldn't you?!?) we will have the new RISC OS wifi drivers on
display on a Pi and Pinebook Pro for you to try out.
Directions to the venue by car and public transport are on the website:
