R-Comp Interactive is pleased to announce that a newly remastered version
of our classic RISC OS game-port "Hexen" is now available on !Store.

The new version has been updated by original RISC OS maestro Charles
Ferguson (aka "Gerph") to support the whole range of RISC OS computers
from RISC OS 3.x/4 RiscPC era to RISC OS 5 systems such as iMX6, Pi and
even mobile play on Pinebook (Pro).

As part of the remastering, the game supports graphics resolutions up to 2560x1440 in 8 or 24 bit colour, including widescreen support. The game
now supports high quality digital music playback so that the music can be enjoyed as intended, even without the old MIDI equipment. This really
adds to the game's atmosphere, which is an important part of the Hexen experience.

With around 50 levels to enjoy, Hexen will provide hours of enjoyment.

For those unfamiliar, Hexen is a first-person perspective, fantasy action adventure game, with combat, puzzles, three character classes and a fun
mix of exploration, fights and scripted puzzles. The game allows travel
back and forth between levels, which is necessary in order to solve
puzzles and find secret sections and levels.

Despite using the Doom engine, Hexen introduced many innovations that up
the ante in terms of gameplay and feel. As well as the ability to look up
and down, jump and even fly, Hexen introduced new scripting capabilities allowing for far more complex interactions and events. Add in digitized speech, an inventory for objects, character classes (warrior, cleric,
mage), and more puzzle-based gameplay/level-structures. Hexen lives up to
it's tagline "Beyond Heretic". Way, way, way beyond :)
