*** Note this meeting is a week later than our usual date ***

This is an early notification and request for help with our slightly
    delayed November meeting.

We will be discussing the common problems with old Archimedes and RiscPCs, looking at how to fix them, and what upgrades are available to help keep
them running for many years to come.

We will be dragging the battered ROUGOL RiscPC out of storage and should
have an A4 to disassemble, but we need more volunteers to talk about their
own experiences of repairing and/or pimping up their old machines!

Ideally we want more systems in the pub that people can look at and prod.
So if you are able to bring any machines along to show what you've done,
or to get advice, do get in touch. Also fine if you just bring along some photos (on a memory stick!) and chat about it.

Our venue is right next to Waterloo Station and there is parking directly outside. Directions here - https://rougol.jellybaby.net/venue.html

    *****************
If you haven't been to a meeting for a while, do try to drop in on this
one. The pub have kindly given us their biggest/best room (for free!) even though this is into their christmas period when they would normally
require a minimum guarantee of 20 people. Please help us keep in their
good books by packing out the room!
    *****************

The meeting will also be held online via Zoom, however the very hands on
nature of this meeting means you will get much more out of it by joining
us in the pub if you can! Contact us to receive a link to the meeting :

If you have attended any previous meeting, it's the same link this month.

For our slightly delayed November meeting we will be discussing the common problems with old Archimedes and RiscPCs, looking at how to fix them, and
what upgrades are available to help keep them running for many years to
    come.

Phil Pemberton will be our online guru, looking down benevolently from the
big screen. He has repaired all types of Acorn machines and their
descendents, and will take us through some of the faults he's seen and the
best ways to tackle them. Prepare for some gruesome horror stories of disintegrated motherboards!

We will then move on to the more informal part of the meeting where
everyone can talk about their own history of fixing and/or upgrading their
own machines. You are encouraged to bring along your old machines. We
won't be able to do any soldering in the pub, but our experts can take a
look and offer advice. Or if you are an expert and have already upgraded
an old machine with solid state storage, enhanced video output, etc, then
bring it along to show off!

Although the meeting will also be held online via Zoom, the very hands on nature of the subject means you will get much more out of it by joining us
in the pub if you can. Plus there is plentiful food and drink :-)
