• TextEase wins in straight sets 6-0 6-0 6-0

From Elesar Sales@21:1/5 to All on Fri Jul 14 06:45:02 2023
TextEase 6.00 is available now, serving up the following aces:

    Key changes
    -----------
All 6 parts from - DTP to spreadsheet - can import PNG graphics directly onto the page in a similar manner to how Sprite, Windows bitmap, JPEG photos and
GIF can be. When exported as a Draw file they're automatically converted to a Sprite, and they're also saved out in HTML too.

Added support for wireless 'clickers' to advance the slides during a presentation, and an on-screen simulated red laser pointer to gesture at
items while presenting if your clicker doesn't have a laser of its own.

As well as linking objects on the page to open files when clicked, URLs can
now also be linked to, thus allowing a web browser to be launched from any
item when clicked. When saving as HTML the link appears there too.

The presentation editor can now superimpose 'safe area' markers to show which parts of the page would be hidden when displayed on different aspect ratio screens; useful if you design at 16:10 but the projector is only 4:3.

Cells in the spreadsheet may now have individually enabled/disabled borders
to add emphasis where needed to a calculation, or to outline ranges of cells.

For a timed presentation, where slides automatically advance, the slide times are now displayed above the thumbnail in the storyboard view.

    Other changes
    -------------
Page management now has a time saving option to delete 'from here onwards', rather than having to delete pages one at a time.

Presentations are now horizontally centred on the screen rather than
    displayed from top left corner.

The 'previous' and 'next' button graphics were missing from presentations exported as HTML. These have now been embedded in the HTML directly so they can't be lost again in future.

Presentations exported as HTML no longer use obsolete frames and Javascript
to avoid security blocking in modern browsers such as Edge and Chrome. The slides use only plain HTML and CSS and can be viewed with NetSurf as well.

The ZLib library, used to minimise the size of TextEase files when saved, has been updated to version 1.2.12.

+10 other miscellaneous bug fixes, see change log for full details.
