We are pleased to announce that there will be plenty to see on the R-Comp
and RCI stand at the SW Show this weekend.
Naturally a big focus will be on our ARMbook computers which saw recent OS
and software updates. The specifically engineered, truly portable, native
ARM laptops since Acorn's A4 in the 90s, the ARMbook is a hugely
significant release for the RISC OS scene, and it is one of the cheapest machines we sell, too!
The ARMbook punches well above its weight - with a superb quality IPS
1080p display (it is stunningly clear, sharp and accurate) and up to 256
GB of storage, coupled with similar overall performance as ARMX6, the
ARMbook is well worth checking out.
There will also be two new ARMbook related software projects on display
around the hall.
As well as ARMbook, you'll be able to try other (and buy!) other RCI
computers such as the diminutive (yet amazingly powerful) mini.m, the magnificent Titan, and the popular ARMX6, now available in its compact custom-engineered "industrial" chassis.
We'll also be showing our new range of high performance, beautiful
graphics RISCbook Windows/RISC OS machines, and continual favourites the RISCubes, now available with Win 10 as an alternative to Win7 for those concerned by MS support ending. Uniquely, we've managed to make RISC OS
work with Win10 with minimal compromises, making us an essential stop if
you have any interest in combining RISC OS & Windows on modern hardware.
Supporting the hardware, we'll have a range of monitors for sale at
different sizes. Of particular note is the stunning bargain 24" IPS
monitors. At nearly 20% saving over our previous cheapest deals, these represent amazing value, and the picture quality is brilliant (IPS
delivers!). Having been using one this morning, I can personally vouch
that it looked lovely, and despite a native 1080p, it was happy at
1920x1200 too. VGA (RiscPC), HDMI and DVI inputs are available, plus
audio jack.
We'll also have a super-deal on 27" 2560x1440 display which is a perfect complement to mini.m or ARMX6 etc. Again, IPS quality - why compromise
when you don't need to?
On the software front, you'll be able to see last autumn's new program - LockScreen (plus a special show discount), as well as an update to
Fireworkz Pro. And don't forget the updates to Messenger Pro and NetFetch
that have happened in the last 12 months!
We'll also be demonstrating the new browsers from RISC OS Developments,
and much more...
There will also be some special show surprises from ourselves and RISC OS
Dev, so be sure to come by for a chat :)
Best wishes,
Andrew
