    Looking from the back of the machine (so that the left side is open when
    the cover is removed), bank 0 appears to be every other slot starting at
    the rightmost slot and bank 1 every other slot starting at the leftmost
    slot. Correct?

    What are the requirements for SIMMs? Does each bank have to be either completely full or completely empty? Do all SIMMs in each bank have to
    be identical?

    What is the maximum SIMM size? 256 MB (for 2 GB maximum memory)?

    I'm not sure what it means, but on power-up I see

    FF.FE.FD.FC.FB.FA.F9.F8.F7.F6.F5.F3.F2.F1.F0.
