• FREE GAME: Heroine's Quest: The Herald of Ragnarok

Free games! We like free games! Give us more free games!

This time, it's a free on both GOG and Steam. Maybe elsewhere too (I'm
too lazy to check). Get one. Get both!

    * Heroine's Quest: The Herald of Ragnarok https://www.gog.com/en/game/heroines_quest_the_herald_of_ragnarok https://store.steampowered.com/app/283880/Heroines_Quest_The_Herald_of_Ragnarok/

So, as the name suggests, this is a traditional side-
scrolling point-n-click fantasy-adventure game in the
style of Sierra's "Hero's Quest" (a.k.a. "Quest for
Glory") games. Except, obviously, this is the distaff,
off-brand equivalent. It has light role-playing elements
and some simplistic combat, but mostly it's typical
adventure. Not really a bad game, but - having played
the classic versions - this game doesn't really add
anything new, so I wasn't too excited. But I guess it
    scratches that nostalgia itch.

    But, c'mon, it's free! Grab it. Your don't want a puny video-game
library where it's EASY to pick what game to play next, right?

AFAIK, there's no time-limit, so grab it whenever.

    Yeah. I have a wishlist.

Starfield I think I can resist. STFU, no way, I'm getting that. 6DoF is
    my jam.

This won't last long; then I'll have to get it up to 586!

A 487 is more appropriate for numbers anyway ;-)

(even if, technically an 80487 really was just a rebranded 486. It was
only used in systems that had a 80486/SX CPU; the 80487 just disabled
the SX and *all* code - not just the floating point maths - ran on the

This is good news! It means I can buy STFU when it comes out and still
have a valid version of The Number, without having to increase my library
to 586 games (or to 80486)!

If that many games don't exist yet, eventually there will be. I'm
    prepared to wait.

In the meantime, I will make it my duty to get as close as I possibly
    can to that number. ;-)

Anyway, if we include mobile and flash games, the world's total number
of video games is likely up in the millions already. Especially if we

Hell, all the different variations of Doom probably add several
