Once again I've been remiss in keeping up with Amazon Prime freebies.
It's almost as if I've lost interest in the product due to their
irregular schedule and lack of interesting offerings. But it couldn't
be that... could it?

Anyway, here is what's new since last time:


* Summertime Madness (requires Legacy Games)
A first-person puzzle-adventure game (think "Portal" or "Witness").
Honestly, outside its somewhat intriguing framing story (involving a
Faustian deal with the devil) the game doesn't really offer anything
new or novel. It feels half-baked and - except for fans of the genre -
not very enticing when there are better games on the market.


* In Sound Mind
A first-person action/survival game. It actually looks somewhat
interesting... except that the game trailers features Twitch streamers screeching at how 'scary' the game is, which is an immediate turn-off.
But if you can get past that, the game is actually pretty fun, if not
all that original. But at least you can shoot the damn monsters,
instead of the overused trope of "always hiding never looking" that
too many similar games use whenever the horrors show up. It probably
won't win any converts to the genre but worth picking up if you
already are a fan.



Next week a new month starts, which hopefully means some "big games"
are on offer again. Until then...
