Nice spot and I've grabbed it myself. As for the DLC, it's kinda
something Slitherine do and generally I don't mind it as it doesn't feel
that the base game has been artificially cut into pieces and the DLC is
mostly of this has a 'campaign' variety which may appeal to you to
refresh the game.

Yeah, but not happily. It - like most modern Trek - doesn't work for
me. I actually enjoyed the first series (well, the first parts; the
ending sucked) but neither season 2 or season 3 are particularly
compelling. Sure, I enjoy all the fan-service (look, the gang's back
together) but it all feels a bit forced and it's getting a bit much.
Plus, I really dislike how they brought Data back; I thought his
passing in the first season was perfect, and they've decided to wind
that back chasing ratings.

On the plus side, the series is /advancing/ the franchise's timeline,
rather than trying to retcon new adventures into the past (Enterprise, Discovery, Strange New Worlds), or ignoring it entirely (Abramsverse).
For too long Trek was stuck in a rut, but at long last it seems to be
moving ahead again.

Still, I think the best 'new' Trek of them all is "Lower Decks". Sure,
it's a comedy; sure, it's animated, and It unarguably starts off
pretty weakly - seeming a cheesy "Family Guy" rip-off of the series in
the beginning - but it has more entertaining characters, stories and
better placed (e.g., less blatantly obvious) fan-service. I'm far more interested in seeing what becomes of Boimler and his friends than
following the adventures of Picard, or Pike, or Burnham.
