It's Thursday, and you know what that means! Tine for me to sneak in
some new games. Oh sure, Epic /says/ they're the ones behind these
generous give-aways, but it's really been me all along. You may thank
me later.
This week my munificence provides:

The short description is that this is a managerial strategy game.
Think something along the lines of "Transport Tycoon" , "Railroad
Tycoon" or "A-Train" and you get the general idea. But this game is a
bit less fixated on the business aspects and more on stringing
together production chains, so in this regard it's akin to games like
the "Settlers" or "Factorio" (albeit not as complicated as the latter, fortunately). So "Rise" sits in a little niche all its own, and it's a
fine game, if you're into that sort of thing. Myself, I can only
stomach that sort of gameplay for so long (I need a daily dose of
violence in my video-gaming ;-) but even if the game doesn't engage
me, I can still appreciate it for what it is.
Give it a try. You may like it. Or not. You have seven days to decide.
