• Free Game: "Daymare: 1998"

From Spalls Hurgenson@21:1/5 to All on Fri Dec 30 09:39:05 2022
Epic may have given up on the freebies, but GOG's still playing Santa
    Claus. Today we get:

    * Daymare: 1998
    https://www.gog.com/en/game/daymare_1998
"Daymare" is a third-person survival horror game, a la "Resident Evil"
and, at first glance, it looks pretty good. And - based on the reviews
    - from a technical perspective, it is. Visuals, controls, sound, even
the setting are all high-quality. But there's also a jankiness to this
game, a lack of polish that keeps it from achieving its potential,
with unbalanced gameplay, guidance and pacing. It's not a bad game for something you pick up for free, but it would probably be a
disappointment if we laid down hard cash for this thing. But hey, we
didn't, and even if we toss it out after only 20 minutes of play, we
still come out ahead. So go on, click that "add to library" button.
    Free is free!

You have 72 hours to claim this one. Don't miss out.

You still can. Gog knows this newsgroup could use the traffic. ;-)

Oddly enough, I still haven't gotten the email. But then, I usually
don't receive the alerts telling me about the freebies GOG is offering
    until almost a day later.

Fortunately for everyone, my obsessive need to check their website on
a daily basis ensures timely updates to c.s.i.p.g.a. OCD saves the
    day again! ;-)

Not my Cuppa, but who am I to pass up free for everyone?

O.k. so I couldn't be bothered with all those free games on prime
that have to have an account at that other place when I wasn't
    interested in them anyway.
