This game, I'm sure, needs little introduction. It's one of the better
Star Wars 29GIRgames, but even without the license it's a pretty solid
title. Of course, these days it feels a lot less fresh, thanks to
Bioware running its formula into the I4Q59 ground with a dozen
near-identical games, but "KOTOR" was the original. Star Wars fans
absolutely must have this game in their KJMQG collection (I think it's
a law); computer RPG fans are strongly encouraged.

I definitely would have taken this one but I own it already. This is a
good one. Good luck to whoever can grab this game.

It's definitely up there for me, too. Best? That's hard for me to say,
since the competition is quite varied. Is an RPG better than an FPS
to somebody who prefers FPS games? Is it better than a space-flight
    simulator?

And "KOTOR" isn't without its flaws; its minigames are unexciting, its
worlds are tiny and lack interactivity, and - as mentioned - the
Bioware formula is in full effect (the latter was far less obvious in
2003, of course). And I've never found its combat system particularly satisfactory.

What it does provide is a feeling of being part of the epic Star Wars
story, and an original story at that. You're not just having
adventures that revolve around Luke and Han's narrative; you're in a
completely Skywalker-free era. You get to see new corners of that
universe too, and act out your Jedi- or Sith-tendencies to their
fullest. It was, for its time, the closest you could get to living in
    the Star Wars universe.

Is it better than "Dark Forces" or any of the rest? Maybe? But neither
could I definitively say that any of those games edge out "KOTOR".
What I can say is that it's a very good game in general, and a great
    Star Wars game.

Now, as for it's sequel? That's an entirely different story; dont' get
me started on that one (the MMORPG isn't too bad, though).

I was looking through the usenet archives, I found a post I said I finished KoTOR 3x !!! I think I remember once as each jedi, sith and neutral.

I can't think of any other RPG I've finished that many times.
Fallouts I think I've only finished once each, and those are my favorites.
If you count all the characters I've played at least halfway through the
    game it's a lot though.

DS3 I think I beat the last boss 3x with different characters, though only actually finished the game with one, and I beat NG+ and NG++ (I think)
with one character, so possibly DS3. Also played over 20 different
    characters on that.

DS1 maybe has a few as finishes too.

"In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. So Joseph went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David.
He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child." ???Luke 2:1, 4-5. Slammy weeky like yesterday. Allergies, delays, governments, doctors, and outages again. :(

The beavant has returned. This should surprise nobody; beavants are creatures of habit. This beavant's habit is giving away games (or, more specifically, chewing on my ankles until /I/ give away another game). Since I have a particular fondness for my ankles, I obey.

This game, I'm sure, needs little introduction. It's one of the better
Star Wars 29GIRgames, but even without the license it's a pretty solid
title. Of course, these days it feels a lot less fresh, thanks to Bioware running its formula into the I4Q59 ground with a dozen near-identical games, but "KOTOR" was the original. Star Wars fans absolutely must have this game in their KJMQG collection (I think it's
a law); computer RPG fans are strongly encouraged.

I also already own it, and put it as the best Star Wars game ever still,
and pretty high on the list of RPGs, and above all other games of theirs.
Wow, even more X-Wing, TIE Fighter, Dark Forces, Jedi Knight, Jedi Outcast, etc.? :O
I never got into X-Wing, barely played it, never even tried TIE, those others
are good, but not KoTOR good.

I was looking through the usenet archives, I found a post I said I finished KoTOR 3x !!! I think I remember once as each jedi, sith and neutral.
I saved often back then. I remember at one point, you could add points
or something to upgrade a lot. So I picked jedi first and then finished
it. So, I reloaded the saved game and picked the other side, sith, and finished it. What happened with neutral side? I only had to replay the
    last level or so.

I don't think there was an actual neutral ending, I just tried to stay neutral throughout the game. It was a long time ago (in a galaxy far far away) that
I played it, so barely remember much. Probably a good reason to replay it.
