  • EA's Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (Re: We should talk about new games we

    I just discovered and briefly played EA's Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes in
    my iPhone 12 mini. It reminded me of the original KOTOR games. I dislike
    its Internet requirement and small screen though.

    It's a really great game, at least until you get to the point you have to spend hours on it every day because you have to be part of an active guild which requires doing stuff every day or they'll kick you *and* spend a literal fortune
    to progress . Have fun with it until then.

    I also played Rainbow 6 Siege briefly last night and the night before
    during its free week trial via Steam (ugh, needed UbiSoft Connect too).
    I found it is mainly online multiplayer. No single player. Even training
    stuff were online. :( The game was pretty and smooth. I suck too when I
    played a real game. :P

    I just briefly played theHunter: Call of the Wildâ„¢'s free weekend game
    to see what it was like. It was a very pretty, slow, and impressive
    hunting game. Yeah, it's not for me. :)

    Boo 2 my cut dry lips, dropped iPhone & its finger holder, window
    blind's broken string, spreading biological vir(uses/i), allergies, cold temperatures, $, busyness, etc. Slept over 7 hrs. 2 days in a row so far.

    Just finished playing its hard and funny tutorial. Will try its
    multiplayer game later since I'm tired now. It's fun like the original
    game! Check out its free weekend! ;)

    I've promoted this game in the past because I've enjoyed playing it,
    but always with caveats. Most importantly, I don't actually 'play' the
    game as intended (stalking helpless beasties for the 'sport'); rather,
    I use it as a sort of virtual nature hike. Especially during the worst
    parts of the pandemic, it was a welcome way to enjoy 'nature' when I

    (Because, even when I could go out, actually going hiking was no fun
    during the pandemic... because my normally quiet and isolated parks
    were FILLED with other, equally restless hikers. There were people
    EVERYWHERE. Limited as it was, the digital recreation was often the

    That said, its getting harder for me to recommend the game even for
    that purpose. Its visuals - while still acceptable - aren't quite as breathtaking as they were four years ago when the game was new, and
    the quality of its expansions has been dropping over the years. Plus,
    the developers are seemingly much more interested in pumping out new
    DLC than fixing existing bugs (and would it kill them to finally add
    some flowing water animations to the game?!?). I'm still a fan, but
    it's almost a shameful pleasure at this point.

    I played more online late last night. It's chaotic and fun even if I
    sucked. :)
