• Free Games: "Alba" and "Shadow Tactics"

From Spalls Hurgenson@21:1/5 to All on Thu Nov 10 11:52:16 2022
Another week, another chance to be greedy.
This week on Epic Game Store we get:

    = Alba: A Wildlife Adventure = https://store.epicgames.com/en-US/p/alba-a-wildlife-adventure-93736a?lang=en-US

A "cute" (Steam calls it "wholesome") flat-shaded action/adventure
featuring a small child ('cause, Indie game) wandering about on a
quest to help the little fuzzy animals of her island. Essentially, you
go around picking up discarded bits of trash and taking pictures of
the wild beasts while solving some lite puzzles. Well reviewed, with a
good message and something for the whole family. Me? I'm less
enthralled; I'm too grumpy to enjoy anything so sacharrine and prefer
    my polygons to have textures.

= Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun = https://store.epicgames.com/en-US/p/shadow-tactics
Steam gave us the sequel last week, Epic is giving us the original
this week. It's still "Commandos with Ninjas" though. Not that's a bad
thing, and I can appreciate a game that isn't trying to be twenty
genres all rolled up into one. You may already have this one, though,
as Epic put it up as a freebie back in December 2019. Still, if you
are interested in the series, start with the original since - as was
pointed out last week - the sequel assumes you've mastered the
necessary skills, so if you want anything close to a learning curve,
"Blades of the Shogun" is where you begin.

Not rush-out-and-grab games, but neither anything to avoid outright.
Free games is free, after all. I was a bit late with this post (I had
to give Ant a headstart for once) so you only have 165 hours to claim
    'em, if you want 'em.

I took it since it's free and has high ratings.

Epic Games said I have it already.

You heard it here first: Ant's been 'gettin' busy', if you know what I
    mean.

By the way, I've been meaning to ask: are you /this/ Ant? https://antsqualityforagedlinks.blogspot.com/

(Not stalking you. Not this time, at least.)

Ah, no. Some PC, leftist, brainwashing game.

= Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun = >https://store.epicgames.com/en-US/p/shadow-tactics

Got this one and enjoyed it for a while but liked Desperados 3 better.

    Thanks!

Hmm color score of 2. How do you get -1,000,000 if 0 is perfect?!
