That looks decent, not overdone. could be worth trying out, if you have a >2080 or better nvidia card!
I never find these ray-tracing upgrades of older FPS games all that
convincing. The lighting effects are, undeniably better, but I don't
think it really makes the /game/ itself look better. The improved
lighting feels out of place next to low-polygon models and
low-resolution textures, the maps themselves don't do anything that
showcases the ray-traced lighting effects (for obvious reasons), and
there's nothing that those upgrade/demos do that couldn't be faked
using old-school techniques, which sort of diminishes the impact.
I mean, I get it. The tech is neat and the advantage in these demos is
you upgrade the engine once and all those effects 'magically' happen
in the maps themselves. If you were 'faking' it, you'd have to
radically edit each map individually, so from a developer perspective
it's awesome.
But from the perspective of a layman gamer, these demos don't really
do much to convince me of the worth of ray-tracing. I guess I'm just
past the idea of getting excited about something because of the
technology; I'm more interested in the end-result these days.
