Also a couple racing games. For whatever reason, I see some games listed
on the www.twitch.tv 'crown' menu at the top, and different ones listed in >the Amazon Games app, so have to open both to find them all, shrug

More specifically, the newest games added are:

    - Mass Effect Legendary Edition*
    - GRID Legends*
    - Need for Speed Heat*

    - Star Wars Jedi Knight II Jedi Outcast
    - Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi Academy
    - Star Wars Republic Commando

Games marked with an asterisk (*) require an Origin account. Sadly,
Amazon Prime does not provide serial numbers, so you can't share the
games if you already own them (but if you do have the games on Origin,
you can now be the proud owner of TWO copies of the game on Origin ;-)

The latter three can be downloaded directly through the Amazon Prime
    Gaming client.

All the games listed are pretty well known, so there's not much need
in commenting on them individually (but I will anyway).

"Mass Effect Legends" is the remastered bundle that includes the first
three Mass Effect games; a pretty good deal if you've never played
them before (if you have, it's still a nice addition, but the
remastering isn't really all that much to get excited about).

"Need For Speed Heat" is yet-another in the long-running series, and
while its a generally enjoyable game (if you're into 'pinball racers'
where you careen heedlessly down the street bouncing off obstacles and
other cars) it doesn't really break new ground. It's pretty though.

"GRID Legends" is another racing game of similar style. Nice graphics,
awful story, shallow but exciting gameplay; its Hot Wheels for older
    kids. Fun.

"Jedi Outcast" and "Jedi Academy" are classic Star Wars-themed
first-person shooters; visually, they've aged (they both use a
modified Quake 3 engine) but they're well made games and your
lightsabre doesn't feel like a baseball bat. The former game follows a
more traditional mode whereas the latter is broken apart into a series
    of separate missions.

And then there's "Republic Commando", which a lot of people loved but
always left me cold. It's essentially a game that tries to mix Star
Wars and "Ghost Recon" - which on the face of it is a fantastic
concept - but (IMHO) failed to live up to its promise. Brain-dead AI, unimpressive visuals, unexciting level design, and extremely spongey
enemies made for a rather tiresome experience.

All-in-all, a nice selection of games; some older, some newer, all
owned by EA. None of them are that exciting, but they all offer solid
gaming experiences and should be part of everyone's library.

Nothing for me unfortunately. Mass Effect kinda tempts me but I've
played the first two, and twice each, I'm that's probably enough of ME
for me when there's other games to explore. It doesn't help with me
having an aversion to another game client as well.

I'd grab it, just because the 'remaster' is probably the best way to
play the games... especially since it includes all the DLC (this is
extremely important for the third game, which was ravaged by how much
content was yanked from the core experience and only felt complete
with the addition of the extra maps and missions). If you ever expect
to play the games again - and who knows, in five years you might! -
you'll be happier with this version than the originals.

And what, no temptation from Star Wars games? You... you... heathen!
    ;-)

Picked them up, thanks! I think I already had the SW ones on steam,
but I've heard someone or other of the big nasty game conglomerates
    started delisting steam games.

I am guessing you are thinking of the recent announcement that THIS
WEEK's BigNastyGameConglomerate* - Ubisoft - is pulling the plug on
several older titles, including FarCry 3 and Assassins Creed 3.
Nominally the games themselves will still be playable via UPlay
(assuming you own them already, of course) but any DLC - be they extra
quests, cosmetics, etc. - will no longer be accessible... even if you
    did pay for it.

I was tempted to start a thread about the topic but ultimately decided
against it because a) Ubisoft killing games isn't new (they've done it
many times before), and b) what is there to say about the topic on how
we don't own our games anymore that we haven't discussed dozens of
    time before**

Besides, if I ever really get a hankering to play FarCry 3 I'll just
play FarCry 5; it's practically the same game. Same thing with
Assassins Creed 3 and its sequels. So it's not such a big loss.

Anyway, back to the topic at hand - the free Star Wars games! - that's
why I'm always happy to grab duplicates of games I already own, since
    - as you pointed out - you never know when one service is going to
pull support. Of course, in the case of these older games, I still
have the original CD-ROMs, so even if ALL the digital storefronts
belly-up, I'll still be able to guide Kyle Katarn towards his ultimate victory.***

ME:3 fits into the category of if I wanted to play it why haven't I
already played. It's one of the reasons the 'big draws' never generally interest me as it's not as though I haven't heard of them. One of the
nice things I find with Amazon prime is that although quite a few of the
games are fluff it still normally has one or two games that I like the
like the look of but haven't heard of before.

And what, no temptation from Star Wars games? You... you... heathen!

Star Wars has never really had any great appeal to me (films or games)
as I prefer my sci-fi to be a bit more grounded in a possible reality.
Saying that I have built several kits from Star Wars and I'm currently
    working on an AT-AT.
