Should be good as one of the things I like about Prime games is although there's a lot of filler I do normally find a couple of games that I
haven't heard of but think I will like. Astrologaster from this month
fits that bill and I'd have gladly paid about £10 for it.

    Ah well, free is free

There is also a bundle of 3 'Legacy Games' that show up under the twitch 'crown' menu, but since they are fairly primitive-looking and require a separate launcher, I passed.

    Specifically:

Metal Slug 2 * King of Fighters 2000 * King of Fighters 2002 * Samurai
Shodown II * Serial Cleaner * Fatal Fury Special * Metronomicon: Slay
the Dance Floor * Hue * Manual Samuel * Crow's Eye, The * Giana
Sisters: Twisted Dreams * 10 Second Ninja X * Pumped BMX Pro * Clouds
& Sheep * Darkside Detective * Darkside Detective: A Fumble in the
    Dark * Rain World * 8Doors: Arum's Afterlife * Metal Unit * Death
Squared * Gone Viral * Bang Bang Racing

(so you know whether or not to rush out and get 'em, or wait until
there's more time. You have until July 14 for all the above)

The SNK games are nice, but have been given away so often it's hard to
get excited about yet-another-copy. The rest are a mix of Indie titles
    - some interesting, others... not so much. A lot (all?) of them have
been offered as freebies by one service or anther over the past few
years Nothing stands out as a real stinker, but hardly the most
thrilling of adds to the library.

Ah well, free is free, and I'm not really into horse dentistry anyway.

Thanks for the update, rms. This still only counts as one point (even
though there are 22 games) in the "who announces a free game to
    Usenet" world tournament, though ;-)

Well I've nabbed both the Darkside Detective games but so far the rest I probably won't. It's not that they are necessarily bad games but instead
not the sort of games that interest me.

I... hmmm... I'm not sure what you mean. You didn't get the games just
because they weren't interesting? But... they're free! No, that just
    doesn't seem to make sense. Next you'll be telling me 1+2 = 5. I can't
wrap my mind around the concept. The numbers must go up; the library
must grow. Why do you hate your game library? ;-)

More seriously, the ones I liked were:

The SNK games (Fatal Fury, Samurai Shodown, Metal Slug, King of
Fighters) are always fun, if not something I can engage with for long
periods. The NeoGeo was such an impressive gaming machine and the fact
that its games still are so playable decades later is amazing. Its
hard not to fire up a Metal Slug game and be shocked that all those
sprites were - originally - being rendered on a processor little
    better than a 386.

"Rain World" looks interesting too; a nice, moody retro-platformer
with an unusual character; vaguely "Limbo"-like, but without all the child-murder. "Crows Eye" seems intriguing as well; a 1st person puzzle-platformer that feels like a cross between "Portal" and "Silent
Hill", which is a weird enough mix to attract me on its own.

The rest aren't as exciting to me, but none of them were out-and-out
awful. The majority tend to be niche Indie games (e.g., the
aforementioned "Dark Detective" games, for retro-adventure
enthusiasts, or "Manuel Samuel", for people who enjoy
physics-gone-wacky gameplay). My biggest complaint is that I already
owned all these games so - with one or two exceptions - these were all duplicates I'd already seen.

Still, I'm not complaining. Its an interesting mix of genres and while
there may be games that aren't to everyone's taste, you'll probably
find at least one or two that are. And they're sorta-free to boot. Not
the strongest start to Amazon's bonanza, but I'll take 'em. It just
wouldn't seem logical to do otherwise ;-)

It looks like a lot of the games are on "Legacy Games" which requires
yet another client. I'm working on claiming them, but not sure I'll
get over the hurdle of actually installing the client.

I'm still got to do a bit more delving to see if there's any other games
I want to pick-up and for me it's just a lot of them, as you say, aren't
to my taste not that they are bad.

Personally I'll always try and judge a game on how good it is against
what is was trying to achieve and not whether I personally like it.

Yes while I am adventure games fan, I skipped those games, one is just
an hidden object game the other one a real adventure game, but another
launcher from a shop which literally has no good games at all, no thanks!
