    Seems a computer engineer, a systems analyst, and a programmer were
    driving down a mountain when the brakes gave out. They screamed down the mountain, gaining speed, but finally managed to grind to a halt, more by
    luck than anything else, just inches from a thousand foot drop to jagged

    The computer engineer said, "I think I can fix it."

    I can't get too excited about "ManEater" (though of course I claimed
    it). I mean, for one, I already have it, and duplicates - even if they
    are on different platforms - are always less thrilling acquisitions.
    The conceit of the game is just a bit too weird for me too; I mean,
    leveling up a shark? I like more realistic games, like guiding a dragon-descended cat-man through a land of magic and ancient gods to
    fight trolls and shout my way to victory. ;-)

    But more, I found the game - or the little I played of it - to be
    extremely repetitive. Go to location X, then eat a bunch of fish/seals/humans/whatever, repeat ad infinitum). The combat wasn't
    too exciting, the physics seemed off and, I dunno... it's not quite as
    bad, but I got a lot of "Goat Simulator" vibes from the game; a game
    stupid and bad for the sake of being stupid and bad.

    Though some of the visuals were quite nice. So there's that.

    "Maneater" isn't the worst game to be offered as a freebie by Epic -
    it's not even close - but it's a thoroughly B-list title and I guess I
    was hungering for something a bit more entertaining (or maybe I'm just
    sore that somebody else announced the freebie instead of me). Anyway,
    it's a free game so no reason not to grab it. The library must grow.

    Lol! I actually got it before it was announced here, as I've been dusting
    off the epic freebies that look possibly interesting and saw it. I could've even announced it before anyone else, but got to let people have their
    'first post' fun.

    ManEater looks like a mobile game I used to enjoy (before I got to the
    grindy bits) only more visually pleasing, I'll give it a try.

    I'm on Nioh right now which is a souls like set on 1500-1600's Earth
    (with magic of course.) which as been fun so far (only like 3 hours in.)
    In true souls fashion I was starting to think "This is too easy" then got my rear handed to me pretty hard immediately after.

    to get the DLC, it's $10, but only adds 10 levels (max 30 in base) so I'm guessing 1/4th of the base game which means about 7 or 8 hours.

    Slight spoiler is that you're a mutant shark so you get mutations you
    can chose from as you go along in the game, it's not just a shark,
    or like the mobile game I liked where you play different types of sharks
    as you progress.

    It's not grindy, and it's pretty short, so worth checking out. Works best
    with kb & mouse. I tried controller, but that didn't work so well, I couldn't get the tail slap to work.

    Nioh, maybe just too much souls yet, another 'may come back to game.'
    I was also disappointed to end up in feudal Japan when I found the
    beginning in England more interesting, and with no explanation of
    why everyone in Japan is trying to kill you.

    Still playing SW: Battlefront 2 off and on in co-op mode, it's good for
    short 15 minute bouts.

    I bought the DLC for Maneater, it was fun as you eventually get to be a 'radiation' shark, think shark with Godzilla like powers. Very short though, maybe worth it at about 7 hours. I probably played another 7 of the base
    game as there were a few things I hadn't done that I finished out. There
    were a couple chests I couldn't figure out how to get to, but done as I
    care to to be.

    I was tempted to check out 'Killing Floor' a it's made by the same company
    and their claim to fame, but it seems to be similar to the zombie squad survival game I didn't care for.
