    Got it thanks.

Strategy game if anyone's wondering. Probably won't play it, but you
    never know.

I wasn't wondering. But that is only because I saw his post in
*.strategic before seeing it here in *.action. :-P

    Thanks Ant.

Grabbed it. Thank you for the notification (although I'm not sure why
I didn't see it, since I check GOG repeatedly just so I can pre-empt
    you on these announcements ;-)

Heh. Did the e-mail even mention it? I skimmed through it before seeing
it on a third party web site.

Heh. Did the e-mail even mention it? I skimmed through it before seeing
it on a third party web site.

Come to think of it, I didn't even get an email from GOG about it
(although usually those arrive /after/ I've already discovered the
freebie on the site. GOG webmasters really should run a 'did user
already claim freebie?' script on their mass-mailings and cull out the
ones who already have the game. But over the years I've accrued quite
a bad opinion of GOG's marketing team, so I am not at all surprised
that they don't do that ;-)

A correction, though, to my initial reply:

Apparently the freebie is not only for the DLC, but for the entire
    package (base game + DLC).

But, of course, GOG manages to do things bass-ackward, as usual. The
free offer initially just puts the DLC into your library. However,
when you go to actually download it, the website complains that you
don't have the base game, at which point you are redirected to 'buy'
the base game for $0.00 USD (convert to local currency as necessary
;-). Once you do that, you can download both the base game and DLC
    package.

Because why do it all in one transaction, right GOG? Geez. I love the service, but the guys running their website and marketing are not the brightest bulbs.

Still, I got a free game out of 'em, after all. And since its
expansion and base game, there's a good amount of content there after
all. So I guess I can't complain too much. ;-)

But why let that stop you from complaining anyways? Its what humans do!

Maybe it's a limitation of the service?
